About SubTrends

Community-level Reddit analytics from public posts.

What we measure

SubTrends tracks how Reddit communities behave over time: posting volume, engagement (upvotes and comment counts), peak activity windows, rankings, and related communities. Figures are community-level. We do not profile individual Reddit users or require a Reddit login.

Communities marked NSFW by Reddit are hidden by default and require age confirmation.

Where the numbers come from

We analyze publicly available Reddit posts, then compute monthly statistics from that post-level data. Rankings, averages, and timing patterns are derived from what we can process for each community, not third-party estimates or scraped “active users” guesses.

Coverage can vary by community and month. When data is incomplete or delayed, we show what we have rather than inventing the rest.

How often it updates

Monthly, not in real time. New months typically appear within a few weeks after the calendar month closes, and can take up to about a month. Free reports show the latest published snapshot; Pro unlocks fuller history and export.

Who’s behind this

SubTrends is an independent project, built and maintained by a single developer. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Reddit, Inc.
